Business and People Search in Canada
Last week I was having trouble looking for a phone number of an old friend. First, I’m having trouble remembering where I put the phone directory book. Then I have to scan through each pages looking for the name. Unfortunately, this friend of mine has a commonly used name in my country, thus making my search more complicated. And this kind of problem will be worse when I’m doing a reverse lookup. Have you ever try a reverse lookup with your phone directory book? J Why don’t they just create a reverse lookup phone directory book where the list is sorted by the phone numbers and not by the owners’ names? Better yet, everyone should have been using online phone directory by now. I mean, come on…
Well, in sort, I did a survey on the internet to look for a phone directory, and I found a great one. It’s an online phone directory of Canada (a 411 kind of service) called Canpages, for business search and people search, and it is effectively simple (or simply effective?). Drop in to their site and you will be greeted directly with search bars to put the business you’re looking for and their location, and they will provide you with the exact address, phone numbers, and even distance. It’s very easy that it’s making Canadian wonder why they need services such as 411 anymore? What about if you need a people finder tool, or if you need to do a reverse lookup, or even a map search? Well, the tabs on top are visible enough for us to find and click. They work pretty much the same. Put the name of the people, their location, and voila… they’ll come up with the information you need. You can even do a mobile phone number search! I did try to find Celine Dion’s mobile phone number, but I don’t think it is registered. J
